Hull Lions Dance Team 

The purpose of the Hull Middle School Lions Dance Team is to promote school spirit, develop good sportsmanship, build positive relationships within the school community and support HMS athletic teams at school events, athletic events, and approved off-campus activities. 

The vision of the Hull Middle School Lions Dance Team is to promote school spirit through a positive attitude, teamwork, and strong sense of belonging. 

The mission of each Hull Middle School Lions Dance Team member is to develop the skills needed to be and effective leader and positive role model. Being a dance team member is more than performing routines in front of crowds; it is an opportunity to  demonstrate school spirit, hard work, perseverance, dedication, and positive behavior. The team represents Hull Middle School by being respectful, honorable, and responsible. 

 

The HMS Lions Dance Team TRYOUTS-Practices will start on TUESDAY, September 8th, 2026,- Friday, September 11th, 2026 from 4:30pm -6:30pm (in Gym #1) after 2nd Bus Call.

*Physicals MUST be completed and uploaded in RANK ONE to participate. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Parent/Candidate Interest Meeting

Date: Friday, September 4, 2026

Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Location: HMS Cafeteria

Requirement Criteria

The following criteria must be met prior to tryouts and practice:

  1. A Rank One account must be completed, and all required forms must be uploaded. These forms are required for all GCPS students who wish to participate in tryouts or regularly scheduled team practices. Please open and follow the Rank One tutorial to complete the necessary forms. 
  2. All potential team members must have met the promotion criteria for the previous school year by passing 5 out of 6 courses, including Language Arts and Math.
  3. If selected, for the Lions Dance Team, each team member MUST MAINTAIN passing grades in 5 out of 6 classes, including Language Arts and Math, during the current school year and must have no In-School Suspension (ISS) or Out-of-School Suspension (OSS) infractions.
  4. If a potential member or selected team member or selected team member does not meet the criteria, they will be ineligible to participate and will be released from the team. 
  5. Completed tryout documents must be linked to Rank One prior to the tryout and practice dates. Please visit rankonesports.com to complete all documents.
  6. View instructions for getting started with Rank One.
    1. Complete the Participation Physical Evaluation forms in English.
    2. Complete the Participation Physical Evaluation forms in Spanish.

Regular Team Practice Schedule (Subject to Change)

Dance practice is scheduled for Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

Occasional Friday practices may be required. Parents and HMS Lions Dance Team members will be notified in advance of any schedule changes. Parents should schedule outside activities and doctor appointments on non-practice and non-game days, whenever possible.

Game Schedule (Subject to Change)

Thursdays: Girls at 5:30 PM; Boys at 7:30 PM.

Saturdays: Girls at 9:00 AM; Boys immediately afterwards.
